Technology eliminates gender disparity – Bola Muse

The Founder of Bomarah Foundation and CEO of Bomarah Group, Hajia Bola Muse has said that technology eliminates gender disparity in the work place, education and healthcare.

She said this at an event organized by the Bomarah Foundation in collaboration with Women Entrepreneur Development and Professional Nigeria (WEDPN) and ECOWAS Federation of Business Women and Entrepreneurs (ECOWAS-FEBWE) to mark the 2023 International Women’s Day.

The theme of the 2023 IWD was “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”.

“The power of technology has enabled us to create more equitable and accessible educational opportunities. Technology has allowed us to bridge the digital divide that has traditionally separated women from education and economic opportunities. We have seen technology used to increase access to education, improve teaching methods, and make information more widely available. Technology has also enabled us to close the gender gap in the workplace,” she said.

Muse said her foundation was focused on reducing infant mortality, enhancing the rights of children, rehabilitation of displaced persons, youth empowerment programs promotion of the rights of persons living with disabilities and awareness campaigns on social vices and ills.

“The organization constantly reaffirms its commitment to this endeavor using three dimensional strategic instruments of education, advocacy and empowerment by determining what the problems are, what actions need to be taken and how to carry out these actions.

“In the future, we hope to regularly carry out projects aimed at ensuring that issues women and girls face are addressed and they have improved access to digital technology. This is because investment into the future of women and girls is always a worthy investment and an investment into a better future for all,” she added.
